The German-Cypriot Youth Exchange Programme (GCYEP), that will take place this summer in Germany, is calling for participations!
It will run for 11 days from 4th until the 15th of August 2012.
Some Information:
The GCYEP was established in 2007. Every year an exchange takes place either in Germany or in Cyprus alternately.
We call for young persons from Cyprus, from ages 16 to 26 (inclusive) that are interested to participate and spend together 11 days full of lively experiences, friendly atmosphere, interesting visits, some serious political discussions and workshops; this year it will take place in Germany.
We are calling for 10 young participants to travel together to Germany, so those interested must respond and express interest as soon as possible, as priority will be given.
The purpose of the programme is to bring together young persons from both parts of Cyprus and Germany (including persons from various backgrounds, east and west) and to actively participate in the various activities of the programme. The aim is to bring together young people from both parts of the island, present aspects of history and culture of Cyprus and Germany, discuss openly and freely about the division and the prospects of reunifying the people of Cyprus, co-relate with the common issues with our German fellows regarding European issues, contemporary problems and challenges such as integration, migration, globalization, the financial crisis and all subjects that young Europeans find interesting.
The cost for participation is only 200 EURO and must be paid upfront, but all other costs: airplane tickets, accommodation, meals, transportation and visits are covered by the programme!

In case of last moment cancellations, unless a replacement is found, the participation fee of 200 EURO is not refundable!
The visits, discussions and workshops are both creative and encouraging for participation. Anyone can join!
All the workshops are interactive and are made by the team. We will meet personalities from the Civil Society of Germany, including journalists, Non-Governmental Organizations, politicians etc. We will also do sightseeing in monuments, landmarks and museums. And of course fun times every night with all the participants!
If you like, you might also be interested to suggest preparing a workshop on a subject you find interesting, such as the environment, the Arab Spring, the History of Cyprus, contemporary issues concerning youth (unemployment, integration), Political subjects, anything you like.
If you would like to participate in this year’s programme and contribute in building good and lasting relationships with German and Cypriot youth, or interested to learn more information and details of the programme, just contact us via phone or email (+357 99518776 or 009 05338610908 / This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
