Having identified a real need for improving the communications infrastructure of Cypriot civil society, we have been running workshops and training programmes since 2009 for civil society organisations, NGO activists and media professionals covering three broad areas: media production, communications, as well as advocacy and campaigning.
In just under 4 years, over 450 participants have come through CCMC’s doors for training, safeguarding a strong gender balance as well as a rich mix of backgrounds and experience.
Over that period CCMC has also built a strong reputation for delivering training that not only builds skills and capacity, but also connects people, organisations, and media, and thus contributes to a networked civil society landscape on the island. Moreover, CCMC’s training has a strong practical focus where participants come away with skills that can be transferred instantly to the workplace.
Building on our experience and past programmes we are consistently integrating the latest approaches and technologies into our training.
All participants are given the opportunity to engage actively and creatively throughout the training, working together to produce tangible outputs.
Our experienced team is derived from a variety of backgrounds such as media production, communications, media diversity, media literacy, human rights and development, the blend of which enriches the training with multiple perspectives and creates the right environment for participation and learning.
