WORKING WITH THE MEDIA: 10am-4pm on Thursday 19 July 2012

Want the confidence and skills to be more effective in approaching the media and journalists? Want to better understand the media landscape, what makes journalists tick, and how to get your messages out to them? This one day course will cover preparing for interviews on TV and radio, getting your press releases published, what is ‘news’ and more. We are pleased to announce that there are two upcoming workshops at CCMC this month (download flyer here):

1. ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER CREATION

Date: 29 May 2012 from 10am-4pm

At: CCMC, Nicosia

This training course will equip you with the skills and know-how to create your own professional-looking electronic newsletters that you can send to your fellow campaigners, members, activists and more. The training will use MailChimp - a free online platform that allows you to create newsletters with many features. Reach a new audience, and impress your mailing list with a fresh new look!

IMPORTANT: To get the most out of this course, it would be very helpful if you can bring your own laptop. We have a small number of Apple Mac laptops available at CCMC and these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

2. ONLINE ACTIVISM

Date: 31 May 2012 from 10am-4pm

At: CCMC, Nicosia.

Want to know how best to use social media and online mechanisms to get more people involved in your activities, causes and events? Want to learn time-saving tips for sharing information across multiple platforms and increasing public awareness in your work? Online Activism will cover all this and more.
