'Each Scarf Tells the Story of a Missing Person'. Exhibition 18-21 December at CCMC

The Bi-communal Initiative of Relatives of Missing Persons, Victims of Massacres and Other Victims 1963-1974 events 'Together We Can!', in cooperation with 'Brodaras por la paz' and FUNDENL (associations of relatives of missing persons from Mexico) invite you to the opening of an exhibition of scarves embroidered by the relatives of missing persons of Mexico 'Each Scarf Tells the Story of a Missing Person'. The exhibition will open on Tuesday 18 December at 6pm at the Cyprus Community Media Centre and will remain open until the 21 December 2012. The event will be opened by Huseyin Akansoy and Petros Souppouris, holders of 'European Citizen' award from the European Parliament and feature addresses by Christos Efthymiou, Sevgul Uludag and Ricardo Lopez. The exhibition features scarves embroidered by relatives of those missing from Guadalajara and Monterrey.

Cyprus Friendship Programme 2013 Application open!

The Cyprus Friendship Programme (CFP) has announced its application process for 2013. CFP aims to create bonds of friendship and trust among the youth of the communities of Cyprus. Each teen from one community is 'paired' with another of the same gender from the other community. Each pair is then hosted in July for four weeks by a family in the US. Kontea Ceremony Saturday 8 December 2012

Tomorrow, Saturday 8 December there will be a ceremony in Kontea village to mark the opening of the Auxiliary Buildings Courtyard. The restoration of the courtyard is the second phase of a project which includes the rescue and preservationof a unique historical site on the outskirts of the village of Kontea and consists of the Orthodox Church of Agios Charalambos and its Auxiliary Buildings, a Catholic Chapel and cemetery, a Frankish Manor from the time of the Crusaders and an Ottoman irrigation system of stone cisterns and aqueducts. The Opening Ceremony will take place from 13:00 to 16:00 and will be inaugurated by H.E. Mr. John M. Koenig, the US Ambassador to Cyprus.
