CCMC takes part in 6th Lemesos International Documentary Festival

CCMC was proud to be involved in the 6th Lemesos International Documentary Festival which took place between 3 and 10 August 2011. This event is organised every August by the non-profit organization Brave New Culture and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation. We had an opening slot on the first night of the festival where two of our mediamakers presented CCMC’s profile video and spoke about concepts of community media in Cyprus. The festival is dedicated to presenting contemporary creative documentaries in Cyprus. In addition, through the organisation of workshops and lectures, if offers the possibility for local professional directors and producers to get acquainted with the latest trends and tendencies in the documentary genre and to get informed about the prospects of fundraising and promoting their own projects in the broader European spectrum. This year’s festival took place over eight days, at Theatro Ena and Sousami venues in the heart of the old city of Limassol. Some of the most important documentaries of the year were screened for the first time in Cyprus and a total of 21 films were shown. As in previous years, directors and producers of some of the films were official guests at the festival and their presence will give the public the opportunity to have direct contact with them.
